About CLEAR

Our Mission

We help program providers, researchers, and policymakers to improve labor programs & policies with systematically reviewed research.

The Clearinghouse for Labor Evaluation and Research was created by the U.S. Department of Labor's Chief Evaluation Office to make research on labor topics more accessible to program providers, policymakers, researchers and the public.  Informed by subject-matter and technical experts, CLEAR applies carefully developed standards and procedures to review and summarize causal impact, quantitative descriptive, and implementation studies on a wide array of labor related topics, as well as assign causal evidence ratings to impact studies and reemployment interventions.  This evidence information is used to meet Social Security Act 306 requirements, as well as other statutory, regulatory, and evidence-based practice priorities.
