Cynthia McKnight

Deputy Chief of Staff

Cynthia McKnight is the Deputy Chief of Staff of the U.S. Department of Labor under Acting Secretary Keith Sonderling. She previously served as Chief of Staff and Senior Counselor to the Deputy Secretary of the Department of Labor. Cindy has extensive labor and employment experience, having worked at multiple federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the National Labor Relations Board, the Federal Labor Relations Authority, and the Office of Congressional Workplace Rights. Before entering public service, Cindy worked in the private sector focusing on corporate and securities matters. Cindy began her career clerking for Judge David B. Sentelle of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Miami University and a J.D from Georgetown University Law Center.
